Arkansas Nursing License

The Arkansas Board of Nursing

arkansasEstablished more than one hundred years ago, the Arkansas Board of Nursing is designed to oversee the health and the welfare of the citizens of the state of Arkansas. Moreover, the Arkansas Board of Nursing aims to develop high standards for safe nursing care, and it is also the institutions that regulates and approved the Arkansas nursing licenses. This institution bases its activities on the Nurse Practice Act and Rules, and it makes sure to set clear guidelines for all nursing professionals to follow. It is the duty of the Arkansas Board of Nursing to enforce the nursing rules that pertain to this particular act, and to sanction those who do not follow them.

How To Become A LPN In Arkansas

The educational requirements for becoming a LPN in Arkansas are simple and very clear: having said that, you must firstly graduate from high school, and then look for a board-certified nursing school. After graduating from the two-year nursing training program, you will have to receive your state licensure in order to be able to work here legally, and for that to happen you must submit an application to the state of Arkansas. This particular application must include a clear criminal background check, it must include your social security number (which has to be valid), an official transcript provided by the nursing school you have attended, along with a copy of the degree, as well as a thorough and official verification of the graduation date.

One of the benefits of working as a LPN in Arkansas is that if you are a NLC nurse and you have received your accreditation in one of the Nurse Licensure Compact states, then you can work in the state of Arkansas without having to worry about additional licensing requirements. Nonetheless, if you come from a non-compact state, you will need to provide the Arkansas Board of Nursing with proof that you have passed the NCLEX exam, that you have a licensure in another state and that you have a clear criminal background.

The state of Arkansas also allows foreigners to apply for an Arkansas nursing license, providing that they also offer a transcript, a full course review by the CGFNS and a proof of English proficiency. These professionals must also submit proof that they have graduated from an approved nursing program that is equivalent to one in Arkansas, that they are either licensed or that they are eligible for licensure in the state of Arkansas, and that their criminal record is clear. After submitting all these documents, the foreign LPN can sit for the licensure exams, and they will receive their license if they pass them. The LPN Arkansas nursing licenses expire every 24 months, on the birthday of the licensee.
