About the Scholarship
The 2015 Licensed Nurse Scholarship is an annual $500 scholarship awarded to a nursing student. The best 300 word essay on the topic of the importance of nurses in today’s health care environment will be selected. Applicants must be college students pursuing a degree or certification as a nurse. High school seniors are also eligible if they plan to pursue studies in these fields, and will be at least 18 years of age by the date of scholarship deadline. The application deadline is March 1, 2015.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:
- At least 18 years of age.
- A college student pursuing a degree or certification as a nurse at an accredited college or university.
- or a high school student planning to pursue studies in these fields.

Scholarship Selection Process:
The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant with the best essay submission based on creativity, grammar and spelling as judged by the scholarship committee.
The winning applicant will be notified by email or phone by March 15, 2015. The $500 scholarship will be sent to the recipient once a profile photo and brief bio has been provided. The winning applicant is responsible for complying with any IRS regulations for receiving scholarships which can be viewed at the IRS website. The photograph and biography of the winner will be published on this page (http://www.licensednurse.net/scholarship) in April 2015.
